Rick Ching Promoted to President of Servco

– Servco Pacific Inc. (Servco) today announced the promotion of Patrick “Rick” D. Ching as Servco’s president effective April 1, 2016. Ching is currently the executive vice president and chief operating officer (COO) of Servco. and president of Servco Automotive Hawaii. He will also keep his title as COO. Ching succeeds Eric Fukunaga, who retires as president on March 31, 2016. Fukunaga will continue in an advisory role as vice chairman of Servco’s board.

Mark Fukunaga continues in his position as chairman & CEO of Servco.

Additional Information:
Eric Fukunaga joined Servco in 1977 after serving in the U.S. Army. Throughout the years, he has served in various capacities throughout the organization. Eric assumed the role of president in 1994 alongside Mark Fukunaga, his cousin, who took on the role of chairman & CEO. Under their leadership, Servco exited a number of businesses to focus on its core businesses of Automotive Products, Insurance Services, and Home Appliance Distribution. Recently, Servco expanded its automotive business to Australia, its insurance business to the Pacific Northwest, and exceeded $1 billion in gross revenue for the first time in its history.

Rick Ching joined Servco in 1985 in the corporate finance area, eventually rising to chief financial officer. He moved into Servco’s Automotive Operations in 2001, leading at different times both the automotive distribution and retail portions of the business. In 2006, Ching was promoted to executive vice president and in 2009, was promoted to president of Servco’s Hawaii Automotive Operations. Finally, in 2014 he was promoted to chief operating officer of Servco.

A Hawaii native, Ching received a B.A. in business administration and accounting from the University of Washington and an MBA in management from the University of Hawaii at Manoa Shidler College of Business. Ching is active in the community, serving on the boards of Diamond Head Theatre, American Red Cross – Hawaii State Chapter, and the Blood Bank of Hawaii.
