Managing Director

As Managing Director of Servco Pacific Capital (SPC), Matt leads its investment, diligence and operational activities. He ensures that SPC’s investment strategy aligns with Servco’s Core Values of Respect, Service, Teamwork, and Continuous Innovation. In addition to his role with SPC, Matt also leads Servco’s Corporate Development function and is a member of the Executive Committee of Servco Pacific Inc., the parent company of SPC.

Matt’s diverse background spans investment roles in both public and private equity markets. He also brings experience from advisory and senior management roles in consumer products, business services, financial services, manufacturing, and retail. He previously served as a General Partner of Weston Presidio, a leading $3.3 billion private equity firm with offices in San Francisco and Boston, where he was actively involved in management buyouts, recapitalizations, leveraged consolidations and growth financings across the consumer, industrial, service and publishing sectors. Since 2001, he has also held various roles with Fender Musical Instruments, which have ranged from investor and board member, to President and COO. As President, he was responsible for the daily operations of the Company including manufacturing, supply chain, accounting / finance, corporate development and IT. During his seven-year tenure, he oversaw corporate acquisitions and raised over $700 million in various syndicated credit facilities as the Company’s revenue grew by 300% to nearly $750 million.

Matt earned his B.A. in Economics from Duke University and his M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. Following his M.B.A., he was awarded the Kauffman Fellowship by the Kansas City-based Kauffman Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership. In 2007, Matt joined the Young Presidents’ Organization and today is an active member of the Global One Chapter. He currently resides in the San Francisco Bay Area, where he serves as a Trustee of The Seven Hills Schools, a leading PK-8 independent school.
